BC Car Tax Appraisalsprepares signed FIN 320 Motor Vehicle Appraisal Forms documenting a vehicle's supported private-sale retail value, based on the photos, vehicle details, sale information and documents you provide. The appraisal is delivered by email. An optional refund-application preparation service (Refund application preparation, $49 + tax) is available only to customers who have already registered their vehicle and paid PST.

An appraisal is a valuation document. It is not a mechanical inspection, a safety certification, an insurance-claim valuation, or tax or legal advice.

Standard appraisals are $79 + applicable tax, delivered within 24 hours. Your 24-hour window starts once payment, required photos and vehicle details are received.

Rush appraisals are $99 + applicable tax. Complete rush orders received by 3 p.m. Pacific, Monday through Saturday, are delivered within 3 hours. Orders received after the cutoff are delivered by 8 a.m. the next service day. Closed Sundays and holidays. If we miss your confirmed rush delivery time, we'll refund the $20 rush upgrade plus applicable tax.

You are responsible for the accuracy of the information, photos and documents you provide; the appraisal relies on them. Providing false information about a vehicle or its sale price to reduce tax is unlawful, and we will not prepare an appraisal to support an inaccurate sale price.

For refunds of PST already paid: you submit your own refund package to the BC Ministry of Finance. Already registered? Act within 30 days. The Ministry must receive your completed appraisal and refund application within 30 days of registration. Allow time to complete and submit both. The Ministry — not BC Car Tax Appraisals and not ICBC — decides and pays refunds, on its own timeline.

PST on an ordinary private sale is calculated on the greater of your purchase price and the appraised value; an appraisal can never reduce tax below the price you actually paid, and no particular savings or refund outcome is promised. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and applicable Canadian law. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
